Choice
Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within
yourself in your way of thinking. — Marcus Aurelius
Wonderful as Universal Mind is, It has no choice but to create
whatever thought is given It.
— Ernest Holmes, “Creative Mind,” page 6
As human beings, we have been given a great gift. It is the
gift of choice. We get to choose what to wear, where to go,
what to eat. But most importantly, we get to choose what
to think. This is crucial because our thoughts create our lives.
Literature from around the world speaks to the truth that
thoughts are things. We all have heard the saying, “What we
think about, we bring about.”
The New Testament of the Bible alludes to this many times.
For example: “It is done unto you as you believe.” Or, “As a man
thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
My favorite one is, “Pray believing that you have, so that you
may receive.”
Your life depends on how you choose to think about it.
Simple, right? Well, perhaps not all the time. It takes consistent
practice to choose what to think. And like everything else, what
you consistently practice becomes a habit. But that’s the beauty
of it. We get to choose.
Choose to see your life exactly how you want to experience it.
Do so without stress or strain because as the quote from Holmes
indicates, as wonderful as Universal Mind is, It has no choice but
create whatever thought is given It.
AFFIRMATION
Today, I choose joy. I choose peace. I choose to be fantastic. Today,
I choose love.
